HOn3 D&RGW 127 (early) long Baggage Car, MRGS kit #3127.
HOn3 D&RG Baggage/Express Car, 38 ft 6 in prototype, early TOC version. Laser cut wood, with cast resin roof, brass and plastic details. Cast resin prototypically correct (16 window) clearstory roof included. This kit builds the long versions of the D&RG(W) Baggage/Express cars as operated in the consist of early Passenger Trains. Prototypically correct for as many as ten (10) of these cars, numbers 127 and 168 plus others depending on specific small detail changes (nominal 38' 6" car body). This kit builds a baggage/express car PRIOR to modifications made in the 1924-8 rebuilding program that added side plates to the sills, roller truck bolsters, etc., some with end doors. The kit comes with a roof walk and ladders. Most of these cars were originally built as express cars (Adams Express) and had no end doors until later rebuilding. Built up model is shown for reference, this is a product for a KIT for this car, see additional photographs. NOTE 1: Photos here are of the rebuilt car model, early car did not have sideplates, or end door (s) and had a roof walk. NOTE 2: If viewing on E-Bay, more photos are available on our web site. Will post new photos when available. Highly rated by reviewers and modelers, this is the first time this car has been offered in HO scale other than as a brass model. There are complete instructions included, but no trucks, couplers, paint or glue. Trucks are available (PN 5002A) for $ 10.50 add to your order before checkout (or e-mail request). Not a quickie kit, craftsman quality, but easy and simple to assemble by the average kit builder.
